Arnon Lambroza

Dr. Arnon Lambroza is a nationally recognized gastroenterologist who specializes in esophageal and swallowing disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, Barrett's esophagus, achalasia and diffuse esophageal spasm. He is also an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal motility disorders such as gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying), constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.

Dr. Lambroza performs routine upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, as well as highly specialized gastrointestinal function tests such as high resolution esophageal manometry, 24-hour esophageal pH-impedance testing and 96-hour wireless esophageal pH studies (Bravo pH probe).  He is often asked to care for patients with particularly difficult esophageal strictures that require specialized dilations.  He is one of the few physicians in the country who specializes in the management of patients with gastroparesis.   

Dr. Arnon Lambroza is a board-certified gastroenterologist and an attending physician at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical Center. He is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), the national medical honor society.  Following medical school Dr. Lambroza performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  He then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.

Upon completing his fellowship, Dr. Lambroza joined the staff of the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, where he was the director of the gastrointestinal motility laboratory as well as the founder and director of The Center for Esophageal and Swallowing Disorders, a unique multidisciplinary program dedicated to treating patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, esophageal motility disorders and difficulty swallowing.  For nearly 20 years, he led a monthly conference that presented cases of complex esophageal and swallowing disorders to a panel of experts in radiology, general and thoracic surgery, otolaryngology, speech pathology and rehabilitation therapy.

Dr. Lambroza is nationally recognized for his expertise in the diagnosis and mangement of complex esophageal, gastric and colonic disorders. He lectures widely on esophageal and gastrointestinal motility disorders and is the past-president of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  He is a member of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  Dr. Lambroza has been selected as a Top Doctor in Gastroenterology for the past fifteen years by the Castle Connolly Guide to the Best Physicians.
